Home Crafted Poppies For Centenary Of The Fallen

combination knitting tutorial

I belong to two groups of volunteers – all very worthy and great support and fun, especially for anyone who used to work outside the home and finds themselves rather isolated after that ceases.   Others are in the caring community and do activities with the less fortunate.  Another group are crafters – my word they are busy with their ideas, inspiring folk to get up and get at it.  One of my contact groups are frantically making knitted and crocheted poppies for the centenary of the end of WW1 this November.  The ceramic poppies at the Tower of London in 2014 was such a fantastic art installation – full of passion and real meaning – each poppy representing a life lost.  Ideas for other crafted versions have been on the go since then.    We have all been provided with patterns and once we get the right red wool and needles or crochet hook, another several million poppies will be available.

About Lacet

Lacet is an established sewing business which looks at talking about the latest sewing technology, designs and machines. We aim to please our visitors by providing them with the latest in this area.

Sewing Machines

Sew this long length of knitting to the tea cosy to form four loops, a bit like a flower. These loops make the hen\'s nest. Ideal for keeping the teapot and boiled eggs warm too, children really enjoy them. Taking less than an hour to make they do make a lovely surprise on Good Friday and Easter Sunday when you present someone a hard boiled egg for their breakfast that still has a hen sitting on top of it.
